I designed the original R&M logo in 2017. The CEO got in touch with me as their company has grown and has evolved reaching new markets. The brief was; that they loved the original logo, and didn’t want to change it, but just wanted to refresh it enough, bring it more up-to-date without losing the essence of what they had. That was my challenge and that is why I love the work I do. Each client is unique with their own set of requirements.
We decided to keep the brand colours of blue and gold which they are so identified by, but I changed the choice of typography this time around and bumped up the weight of the logo mark giving it a two-toned highlight and finessing it overall. We also changed the tagline to a more appropriate option which worked with their new direction.

The Visual Identity Package I put together included a variation of logos to fit all sizes, spaces, and eventualities. ( No company needs just a logo) To see how the new logo would work on different applications I designed a series of mock-ups of potential touch points where the logo would be seen, this is an important part of the design process. we had the primary logo include the company tag line “Building Homes . Faster . Smarter . Safer”

Some of the mockups we presented were for site hoarding, workwear, and vehicle livery. In addition to the logo, I designed the stationary and business cards providing print-ready artwork. Email signatures, social media headers, and editable PowerPoint slides were also required at this point. We even have a pattern that is depicted in the stationary mockup inside the folder.

Once completed and the client was absolutely happy with the design I sent over a full Brand Kit with a range of different formats of the logo for print and digital use this also comes with a quick guide on which format to use when and where. Also part of the package was a Brand Style Guide to enable the in-house team and any external suppliers to keep the visuals on brand with the correct colour codes and fonts and some tips on how the brand should look. These are important to keep the new brand looking professional and consistent on all levels throughout the years.
